About PawConnect

Built from love.
Born from loss.

We lost our cat Cody to a disease that could have been caught earlier. So we built the platform we wished existed — for every pet parent who deserves better.

Cody — the cat who inspired PawConnect

Cody (Jul 2025 – Mar 2026)

It Started with Cody

Cody was a beautiful grey cat with golden eyes who came into our life on July 1, 2025. He was playful, gentle, endlessly curious, and had this way of making you feel like the most important person in the world. He'd curl up on your lap during late-night coding sessions, purring softly, as if to say “I'm here, keep going.”

In early 2026, Cody started showing subtle signs — eating less, sleeping more, being quieter than usual. We thought it was just an off week. But over the next few weeks, things got worse. He stopped eating entirely. He was in visible pain.

The vet diagnosed an intestinal tumor — a blockage that had been silently growing, stopping everything from passing through. He had been suffering for nearly a month before we understood what was happening. He was only 8 months old.

There was nothing more we could do. On March 17, 2026, we held him one last time and let him go peacefully, without any more pain. He was put to sleep in our arms. The kindest thing we could do was also the hardest thing we've ever done.

The Realization

After losing Cody, one thought kept haunting us: “What if we had known sooner?”

What if there had been a community of experienced cat owners who could have told us that a kitten losing appetite for days is a red flag? What if we had a vet just a tap away for a quick consultation? What if there was an app that tracked Cody's eating patterns and flagged the change? What if there was a platform where pet parents shared real health experiences, not just cute photos?

That platform didn't exist. So we decided to build it ourselves. Not as a business idea — but as a promise to Cody that his loss would mean something.

A Message to First-Time Pet Parents

If you just got your first pet — congratulations. You're about to experience a kind of love that's hard to put into words. But please, learn from our story.

  • Learn the warning signs for your pet's species. Loss of appetite, lethargy, sudden behavior changes — these aren't just “off days.”
  • Find a vet before you need one urgently. Build that relationship now. Know where the nearest emergency vet is.
  • Join a pet parent community. Experienced owners can spot things you might miss. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
  • Track your pet's health. Keep records of weight, eating habits, and vaccinations. Small changes over time can reveal big problems.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off with your pet, don't wait. Act now. It's always better to be safe.

We built PawConnect so you'd have all of this in one place. So you'd never have to Google “why is my cat not eating” at 3 AM and hope for the best. So you'd have a community, a vet, and the tools to keep your pet safe — all at your fingertips.
